Past Monthly Meetings

The DCDS offers regular, complimentary CE programming to its members each year between September and May. Monthly meetings are usually on the second Tuesday of the month (depending on holidays and other events). In addition to learning the latest innovations and techniques in dentistry from world-renowned speakers from across the country, DCDS monthly meetings give attendees an opportunity to share ideas, information and network with one another. Nonmembers may attend DCDS monthly meetings for a small fee.

Technology is changing the world around us and that includes Dentistry. Today, many dentists find themselves confronted with the daunting task of embracing a more digital workflow. It can be very intimidating to transition from traditional analog techniques to more digital tools but the excitement it brings to your staff and patients makes it worth it.

Session 1: Digital Dentistry Utilization in Today’s Dental Practice: Part 1

 In Part 1 we will discuss how digital scanners are not only for replacing impression material.

By understanding the technology your practice will experience a new level of satisfaction. We will explore why it is important to scan your patients to aide in communication and treatment planning, how your clinical techniques might need to be altered, and what products can assist in this endeavor. The goal of this webinar is to convert any hesitation of adapting this technology into excitement of what digital dentistry can offer to your practice.

Learning Objectives
  • Participants will be able to identify areas of their practice that can utilize digital scanners.
  • Participants will understand the key differences between digital and analog impression techniques.
  • Understand various tissue management techniques and tools.
  • Understand the proper prep design protocol for today’s materials.
Session 2: Digital Dentistry Utilization in Today’s Dental Practice: Part 2

In Part 2 we will discuss how to efficiently use digital scanners and proper technique.

By understanding the complete clinical workflow from a dental office and a laboratory perspective, predictability and profitability can be achieved.

About the Speaker: Dr. Christopher Pescatore

Dr. Christopher Pescatore is a national and international lecturer who has written articles for numerous publications, including Practical Periodontics and Aesthetic Dentistry, Profiles, Dentistry Today, Compendium, Dental Economics, and Inside Dentistry to name a few.  He lectures on state-of-the-art aesthetic procedures, CAD/CAM techniques, and materials, and holds a U.S. patent for a non-metallic post system to restore endodontically-treated teeth.  Dr. Pescatore is a past member of the Board of Directors and the editorial team member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), former Clinical Co-Director and former featured lecturer at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, past instructor of the Advanced Aesthetic Program at New York University - College of Dentistry, the Aesthetic Continuum at Baylor College of Dentistry, and the Aesthetic Program at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Pescatore  also evaluates and assists in the development of products for several leading dental manufacturers and laboratories, and is on the editorial board of the prestigious publications REALITY - the information source for cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Pescatore is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey Dental School.  He maintains a full-time practice dedicated exclusively to aesthetic restorative dentistry in Danville, California.
