Mary's Center provides comprehensive family dental care including sedation, orthodontics, sealants, operative, root canals, prosthetics, extractions, and three salaried dentists. In addition, they are capable of treating homebound patients and outreach needs with mobile dentistry equipment.

Fees range from Medicaid rates to free, depending on the patient’s income level. Patients with dental insurance and/or those on Medicaid are accepted for treatment.

Acceptance in the sliding scale program requires identification papers (photo ID, passport, resident card, etc.), proof of address (lease agreement, utility bills, etc.), and employment verification (pay stubs, income taxes if a business owner, etc.).

Emergency "walk ins" are accepted for a period of one hour beginning at 8:30am and 1:00pm. Every thirty days a new "wait list" is established for appointments.

The Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center serves greater Washington’s diverse urban community, including individuals who face barriers to accessing care, and with a special expertise in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and HIV care. To be a dental patient you must first be a patient within their medical system. Fees are based on a sliding scale (including free) depending on income level. Patients are accepted with or without insurance coverage. Medicaid is accepted and the clinic will apply for it on behalf of the patient. DC Alliance (the DC “safety net insurance”) is also accepted.

There is one paid dentist and one hygienist on staff. A full range of dental services is provided: restorative, oral surgery, preventative, endodontic, and fixed or removable prosthetics. Urgent care slots are open every day at 8 am, but are usually scheduled ahead of time.

The Howard University College of Dentistry, the only dental school located in the Washington Metropolitan area, provides an opportunity for individuals of all ages seeking dental treatment to receive high quality care provided by students and post-doctoral residents who are guided by dentist/professors. Appointment times may be significantly longer than visits to a private dentist. However, fees may be reduced to approximately 50% of the average Washington, DC fee. General dental and specialized services include: diagnostic, preventive, restorative, fixed prothodontics, removable prothodontics, implants, oral surgery, oral pathology, orthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, and pedodontics. The clinic also serves medically compromised and special needs individuals. The clinic accepts DC Medicaid, Chartered Medicaid & Alliance, and United Healthcare Medicaid & Alliance as forms of payment. Patients with complex cases or those who don’t have the time to be seen by students can receive state of the art care in the Faculty Practice. However these fees are not reduced.

To be a dental patient, it is necessary to be a patient in their comprehensive medical system. Fees are based on a sliding scale (including free treatment) depending on income level. Patients are accepted with or without insurance coverage. Medicaid is accepted and the clinic will apply for it on behalf of the patient. DC Alliance (the DC “safety net insurance”) is also accepted.

The clinic has two operatories. There is one paid staff dentist. A full range of dental services is provided: restorative, oral surgery, preventative, endodontic, and fixed or removable prosthetics. Urgent care slots are open every day at 8 am, but are usually scheduled ahead of time. The Max Robinson Center and Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center are administered jointly.

The dental clinic provides both emergency and comprehensive oral care to individuals who are homeless staying in a shelter, living in transitional housing or enrolled in a residential drug treatment program.

The clinic provides preventative dental services, basic care, restorations, root canals, extractions and removable prostheses. The clinic accepts the first 3 emergency patients that present at 7:45 am each morning. The clinic has 1 dentist in attendance on Mondays and Wednesdays, 2 dentists on Tuesdays, and 3 dentists on Thursday and Fridays. The clinic has 4 operatories that are fully equipped with digital radiography and current technology.

The SOME Clinic accepts DC Medicaid Insurance, Chartered Medicaid & Alliance, and United Healthcare Medicaid & Alliance as forms of payment. They do not accept Part A or B Medicare Insurance as it does not cover dental treatment. For individuals with no insurance coverage, fees are paid out of pocket and set on a sliding fee scale. Patients who wish to receive care must arrive at the clinic at 7:45 am and complete the paperwork to be eligible for appointments. A valid insurance card is required and those individuals enrolled in drug treatment programs must provide a verification letter from the program to receive dental services. The Spanish Catholic Center (Washington, DC location) provides a full complement of family dental services including: cleanings, x-rays, dental hygiene education, fluoride treatments, emergency visits, extractions, restorative (including crowns), pediatric and adult root canals, and dentures. The updated modern clinic, established in 1975, has 5 operatories, one fulltime salaried dentist, the equivalent of l.l volunteer dentists, one full time hygienist, volunteer hygienists, 3 full-time salaried dental assistants and 2 receptionist/front desk employees. Volunteer specialists treat patients at the clinic as well as off-site at their own private office. The clinic gets approximately 6,000 total visits per year and 2,100 new patient visits.

The mission of the Spanish Catholic Center Dental Clinic is to provide dental services to low income, uninsured patients in the DC area. Therefore, the clinic does not accept patients with private dental insurance or Medicaid.

The sliding scale fee program requires photo ID, current address and employment income verification, if applicable. New patients are given up to 90 days to bring the verifying documents.

Emergency “walk- ins” are accepted for a period of one half hour beginning at 8:30am and 1:00pm. There is a waiting list for some specialists. There is always a great need for dental volunteers at the clinic.

Community of Hope offers affordable, comfortable, and convenient dental services for patients of all ages. Services include: comprehensive oral exams, dental x-rays and cleanings, fillings, sealants,dentures, extractions, root canal treatment, and crowns.
